The European Research Council (ERC) provides funding for breakthrough research with a high risk / high gain dimension. Gavin Thomson will introduce ERC funding to you and give advice on how to write competitive proposals for ERC Starting and Consolidator Grants. Gavin has a long experience in providing support for ERC applicants and has been an appreciated reviewer of proposal drafts.

Drop-in day at the Research Support Office - Find your future Horizon 2020 calls

Thu 24 May, 09:00 - 17:00

On 24 May, Research Officers will guide you through the Work Programmes 2018-2020 of Horizon 2020 (ERC included). This is an opportunity to find future calls that fit in well with your research, at an early stage. Coffee and tea will of course be served. Welcome to our office in Södra huset, building E, level 6, room E665.

 

As an alternative to drop-in, you are most welcome to inform us in advance that you will turn up. You can do this by e-mail to Lars Emrén (lars.emren@su.se) and book a suitable time. Please describe keywords for your research. If the date is inconvenient we will agree on another time to meet.

Seminar: “Being the coordinator of an EU project: challenges and rewards”

Thu 31 May, 14:00-15:00, Livia Oláh (Department of Sociology)

 

Associate Professor Livia Oláh, Department of Sociology at SU, has coordinated a large-scale collaborative EU project, FamiliesAndSocieties. She will share her experiences of what it means to be a project coordinator (challenges and advantages) and discuss important aspects of project management from the proposal phase to project implementation and final reporting.

Seminar: “Funding opportunities in FET - Future and Emerging Technologies (Horizon 2020)”

Mon 4 June, 10:00-11:00, Sverker Lundin (VR) and Johan Lindberg (VINNOVA)

 

The FET programme promotes radically new lines of technology through unexplored multidisciplinary collaborations. The calls are open tomany areas of research e.g. arts, social sciences, global system science, quantum, nano- , neuro, and biotechnologies. Three complementary lines address different methodologies and scales, from new ideas to long-term challenges: FET Open (radically new ideas, open topics), FET Proactive (emerging technologies, defined topics) and FET Flagship (grand long-term challenges, defined topics). Sverker Lundin (VR) and Johan Lindberg (Vinnova) will introduce the FET programme and share their knowledge and experience including tips for successful applications focusing on FET Open.
