External scientists and phd-students can be linked to the department as guest researchers to develop national and international exchanges or to run collaborative projects. Guest researchers must be approved by the head of department before they are invited. Status as guest researcher does not represent a formal affiliation and can be cancelled by either party at any time.

To be registered as a guest researcher at DBB, the researcher must:

  • Have defended their doctoral thesis or started a doctoral program at another university in Sweden or abroad.
  • Be employed as a teacher/researcher at a Swedish or foreign university, government authority or company during the entire guest research period.
  • Be invited by a group leader at DBB who will be the host with direct responsibility for projects and supervision.
  • Be able to contribute to DBB's activities.

To apply to link guest researchers to DBB, please fill in the form Guest registration (temporary visitors) at DBB (227 Kb) and send it to Martin Högbom for approval.

Other information/conditions

Guest researchers at DBB will in all cases be insured via Kammarkollegiet throughout the period. Guest researchers will also receive a Sukat-account and e-mail address. To cover the department's costs for insurance and the University's IT fees, the guest researcher's host will be charged SEK 1,000/month as a lump sum in advance for the entire period. Guest researchers are housed in the premises that are normally at the  the host’s disposal.

Foreign nationals who are to be active at DBB for more than three months need to apply for a residence permit for guest researchers. Regardless of the length of the affiliation, citizens of some countries may need to apply for a visa.

Access to DBB's premises for staff at another department at Stockholm University.

Staff who are employed at or funded by another department at Stockholm University* can be provided with access to DBB's premises for a certain period of time, for example when there is close collaboration with one of DBB's research groups.

In order to gain access to DBB's premises, the SU employee must be invited by a group leader at DBB who is the host with direct responsibility for projects and supervision.

As this only applies to SU-employed personnel, DBB will not specifically provide insurance, an e-mail account or other IT resources.
