Bachelor's Programme in Chemistry
The Bachelor's Programme, given in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry, will give you knowledge in all areas of chemistry, including biochemistry and neurochemistry. Moreover, you will gain great experience of working in the lab and close collaboration with talented researchers and committed teachers. Our Bachelor Programme is taught in Swedish during the first two years, then in English on the third.
For more information about the Bachelor's Programme in Chemistry, please see the University's page:

Master's Programme in Biochemistry with Specialization in Protein Chemistry
Proteins are the building blocks of life. They play a central role in various disease processes and can also be used for therapeutic purposes. If you want to learn more about these fascinating molecules then the Master’s Programme in Biochemistry with Specialization in Protein Chemistry could be for you.
For more information about the Master's Programme in Biochemistry with Specialization in Protein Chemistry, please see the University's page:

Master's Programme in Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology
Are you interested in unlocking the secrets of the nervous system? Then this highly selective Master’s Programme in Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology—the only one of its kind in Europe—offers a unique opportunity to explore the nervous system, from the biochemical level of ion channels and neurotransmitter receptors to the neuronal networks that regulate body functions, emotions, and behaviour.

Master's Programme in Molecular Techniques in Life Science
This programme is a collaboration between KTH, Karolinska Institutet and Stockholm University at SciLifeLab in Stockholm. The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics gives two courses within the programme. The programme fosters graduates for a professional research career in life science. It has a strong focus on molecular techniques for disease therapies and diagnostic tools, coupled with substantial training in data analysis (bioinformatics and programming).

Free standing courses in English and Swedish
Most of the courses in our bachelor's and master's programmes are also available as freestanding courses. In addition, we offer four freestanding research traineeship/internship courses and two freestanding introductory courses (in Swedish) designed for the general public.
Before applying to a freestanding course, it is important to check the entry requirements. You can find more information about all our courses and their entry requirements by searching the Stockholm University course catalogue (please see link below). All course applications are made through the central Swedish application system; www.universityadmission.se
Research traineeship/internship courses
During the traineeship/internship course(s), you will participate in the daily work of a research laboratory and perform standard tasks under supervision. The traineeship can be completed in any of the following fields: biochemistry, biophysics, bioinformatics, or neurochemistry.
Please note that you must find a supervisor in order to undertake a research traineeship/internship at the department.
For more information on how to apply, find a supervisor, and access other important details, please see the Chemistry Section's page:
Introductory courses aimed for the general public
The introductory courses are given in Swedish and run in the evenings with a 25% pace.
For more information, please see the University's pages:
